Issues and Variants Not Being Recognized

I'm posting to see if anyone else is experiencing issues with the database or recent updates, or if I might be doing something wrong with my scans. It seems like several of my issues are not being recognized when I scan them, which suggests they might not be updated in the system. For example, when I try to scan: • DC KO #1 • Batman/Deadpool #1 ...they are not being recognized. I've also run into the same problem with a few variants of Absolute Batman and Absolute Superman editions. I'm not sure what I could be doing wrong on my end, so I'd appreciate any advice, troubleshooting tips, or confirmation if these issues are known to be missing from the database. Downloading your collection as a spreadsheet

Alert when scanning duplicate comics

It would be nice if they let you know when you scan duplicates. And they don't scan variants.

Collection Missing

There is something all kinds of wrong with this site/app. I have scanned over 5000 comics to my collection and despite this every time I open the app it tells me to scan my first comic. Not only that but comics that have been out for ages return with an unrecognized screen but i can search them in the Price Guide tab and find them listed but can'tadd them to my collection. And my Green Lantern/Green Arrow Whitman comics no longer appear as Whitman editions but regular GL/GA comics and Superboy and the Legion Whitman comics all return unrecognized. Images are not available for Newsstand, DC UNIVERSE and other variant covers. Very sloppy.

Too many unrecognized scans.

There are far too many images that are not recognized upon using the scan functionality. Sometimes as many as 2 of every 10 comics I am adding to my collection (sometimes more, even). More often than not, I can find the comics in the price guide. I have waited for the image recognition to kick in on its own, but this is not happening. Once I’ve catalogued and boxed the unrecognized comic, it is too onerous to pull it out at a later date rescan it and see if it can be successfully added. Simple solution: allow the user community to manually associate the unrecognized comic book via looking it up in the price guide. I am surprised this has not been done already.

Navigation Issues

So not sure if anyone else has this issue. I use Android phones and have been on hip comic for quite some time, since the newest update I can no longer access the features at the bottom of the screen, they have made them too small and the buttons on my phone for going back, minimizing, and flipping through open apps, completely covers. Very poor design and now renders any use of Hip Comic obsolete.

Empty or delete your entire collection

I like the new look on the app but really like the old app better.

Manually add comics from Price Guide to my collection

If we look up a comic or series, would it be possible to have the option to add it to our collection with having to scan it in? Would make things go a lot faster.

Show variants that you own on the comic info page

There should be section on the info page of a comic with the variants that you own, like little pictures or something. Also no variants of new releases have been uploaded for months

Changes to desktop interface

Viewing items in a store on the desktop has changed for the worse. Please have an option to view items the old way. Half the screen is useless to me (home etc. on the left, categories on the right). Only 48 items are now viewable per page and they are in a straight line down making browsing completely obnoxious. Please have an option of (at least) 96 items per page, at least four across and have the sidebars collapsible for people who don’t use them.

Auction Bidding Issues regarding Addresses

Ok, this is like the 10th time I've watched an item only to get locked out of bidding for some "address" related issue. Why is this happening and it makes no sense whatsoever. I am logged in, and my address appears on record per normal. This is extremely annoying.

I reached out by email but no one responded. I logged into my correct email but all my scans were lost. Can someone help?

Comics

I have about 200 comics not recognized. Mostly some older transformers comics. Can you look into it. Thanks

Missing issues and only foreign issue

I scanned in my compete series of Alias and all that available was JP assuming Japan there is none for American issues this is a pretty big series to not have. I also had to input every issue of the first Punisher MAX series from 2004 to 2010 a 77 issue run none where available. It would be cool to get them added as for they are big series. Thank you!

App not showing my collection

App not showing my collection . It shows only others’ collections , in the account it listed a spam email as my email I reset the password, logged out and it still doesn’t work . If I login online to the homepage it shows everything correctly. If I try and uninstall the app it warns me I will lose my collection

Shipping wrong on store page

I have calculated shipping for my items. The amount is usually around $8.50 per single item. When I go my store, the shipping amount is showing $17.00. I assume it’s a setting somewhere, but I can’t find it. The $17.00 is going to scare off potential buyers. Please help

I had scanned over 1,000 comics before the change. Where did my collection go? I am being told to start scanning my first book.

Suspended account

This is to let you know that the book you suspended my account was paid for through PayPal on July 7th. It still is marked unpaid and had never been shipped to me. I will open a dispute with PayPal to get my money back. If the book is not shipped to me. I hope you contact the store on your site. I have sent them the PayPal receipt. Which i have included here. $18 to Joseph Attianese.

Delete My Collection Feature

I scan a bunch of comics for my shop, sometimes as people come in with lots they wanna sell. Is there a fast way to delete/reset my collection?

Batman/Deadpool

Once again I find it extremely stupid that Deadpool/Batman is a book recognized in your database but Batman/Deadpool is not. Make that make sense.

Question about currency

Every time I come to the site it defaults to USD, is there a way to change the default to the currency of my choice so I don’t have to keep doing it manually every time?

Unfulfilled Orders

It keeps happening! Everytime I win a comic that I really want it doesn’t come. Jim Once again I have two separate comics I really want that I won at auction and they haven’t come in a long time. I’m attaching the one I won that I want most. This happened several times now. I’m losing faith in Hip Comic. Last month it was another comic. See attachment.

Website Problems

I scan a comic book while I am logged in, then I go back to the home page and it tells me to scan my first comic book. Meanwhile I texted a link to my collection as the only way I can see my collection.

Google Cloud Outage (June 12, 2025)

trying this for the first time n having problems. i’ve created an account n taken the picture of the book n pressed the green checkmark n then it goes the next screen where it getting the scan but it just keeps buffering on n on. what is going on? i tried to retake the picture but it does the same thing.

Not able to sell my collection

Instead of going through and individually removing every comic I had, I made the mistake of deleting my account. Now after I added my comics I'm not getting the option to sell my comics to Hipcomic. Also it shows me as a member since 2023 and has my old picture on the profile. I'm not sure how that could be possible either. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
